About the Specialized Roubaix

With the Specialized Roubaix, you get a performance road bike perfect for racing. Thanks to the Future Shock 2.0 suspension, it tackles rough terrains, such as cobblestones, even better than before. You can find a budget-friendly used option equipped with high-quality components at our store. The bikes we sell have minimal wear and tear, so you get the same ride quality at a fraction of the price. Our refurbished models even come with a one year warranty, so you can rest assured they’re just as good as a new bike.

What Makes the Specialized Roubaix so Special?

The Specialized Roubaix is a performance road bike, designed for uncompromising riding comfort. The Roubaix frameset provides a perfect balance of aerodynamics, lightweight, and control. The FACT 10R frameset, known as Rider First Engineered™ (RFE), ensures top-notch quality. The frameset with freefoil shape library tubes only weighs around 850 grams.

The radical new Future Shock 2.0 suspension allows up to 20mm of compliance while riding. Compliance isn't uniform; there's both axial/vertical and horizontal compliance. On uneven surfaces like cobblestones, the rider's motion is upward, preserving forward momentum. The Roubaix's suspension maintains vertical compliance.

Positioned above the head tube, the suspension retains optimal stiffness between the wheels and frame, ensuring controlled riding across various conditions. The Future Shock 2.0 has adjustable hydraulic dampers on the handlebars for precise tuning.

The new Pavé seat post, the first yielding option, maintains excellent aerodynamics and ensures balanced handling. The Roubaix's smoothness led to seven victories at the legendary Paris-Roubaix over 16 years. The Specialized Roubaix Comp previously featured the Future Shock 1.5, Rider First Engineered frame, and Tarmac-level aerodynamics.

Which Components Equip the Specialized Roubaix?

The derailleur and other components utilize various Shimano and SRAM models. The Shimano 105, known for its reliability, is a dependable choice. The Ultegra, a slightly toned-down version of the high-end Dura Ace, offers enhanced riding comfort and automatically adjusts to road conditions and speed, available in electronic versions like Shimano Ultegra Di2 and Dura-Ace Di2.

Hydraulic disc brakes have become prevalent in road bikes, due to their substantial braking power, especially in wet and muddy conditions. Rim brakes are less commonly used in models for this reason.

The Body Geometry Power Expert Saddle boasts a stiff, carbon-reinforced shell with durable titanium rails, ensuring both lightweight and robustness. Its water-resistant cover, along with supportive PU padding, ensures comfort and proper blood flow during rides.

The carbon-fiber-coated Pavé seat post, with a deep-seated saddle clamp and a drop-clamp design, offers compliance and good aerodynamics. The fully integrated S-Works Pave seat post enhances the bike's aesthetics.

For the handlebar and stem, Specialized relies on their in-house development for quality. Correct frame size and a properly adjusted cockpit guarantee a perfect riding experience.

Wheels often come from Roval or DT Swiss, with the DT Swiss 470 wheelset, known for its lightness, reliability, and favorable price-performance ratio.

Specialized's Turbo Pro tires boast low rolling resistance, excellent cornering traction, lightweight build, and durability.

How Good is the Specialized Roubaix Road Bike?

We believe the Specialized Roubaix is the best Specialized bike…just kidding, we love all Specialized bikes!

It's a perfect bike for light gravel as well as rough terrain thanks to its future shock suspension. The impressive cushioning compares well to gravel bikes with a tire clearance of up to 40 mm. It doesn't come with mudguard mounts ,but there are plenty of mudguards that you can buy and attach yourself. This helps make sure you can tackle wet and wild days on your ride.

At Specialized, they strive to overcome gender stereotypes through collaboration with Retül. Data from 95,000 riders and 8,000 Retül bike fits helped in understanding differences in rider positioning. If the Specialized Roubaix doesn’t feel like the right bike for you, explore other road bike categories like Tarmac, Aethos, or Allez Sprint where you might find your next ride.
