History
Bianchi is an Italian bicycle brand founded in Milan in 1885 by Edoardo Bianchi. The company is one of the oldest bike brands in the business and has a long history in cycling. Bianchi was one of the first manufacturers of road bikes and is known for its high-quality bikes as well as components.
Another distinguishing feature is the color Celeste. For many years you can find the color on quite a few bikes from Bianchi. It has changed over the years but is immediately identified as Celeste almost everywhere.
The company made a successful comeback after World War II despite several setbacks. Fausto Coppi won the Giro d'Italia in 1947 and the Tour de France in 1949 giving the brand a major boost. Another icon is Marco Pantani, who won both tours in one year in 1998.
⚙️ Components and Equipment
Fast and reliable components are set on the Bianchi Sprint
You can be sure with Bianchi that they select the components for maximum speed. Furthermore they are extremely reliable so you can enjoy your excursions without hesitation. Most of the components are in-house parts with Reparto Corse and Velomann products.
Velomann has been a part of Bianchi for almost 10 years and can be found on most bikes. Reparto Corse stands for innovative products created with the help of the racing department. Engineers and professionals work together to push components to the limit. The continuous successes in cycling prove the successful implementation. In addition the Italians fall back on the products of Shimano, FSA or Vittoria.
Derailleur groups
- For the rear derailleur, shift lever, front derailleur and the rest of the components of the gear groups Bianchi often relies on Shimano. The most common shift groups are the Shimano Ultegra and Shimano 105. The Shimano Ultegra is one step above the Shimano 105. Both models are available as electronic gear groups but the Shimano Ultegra is made of higher quality material.
- As crankset you get the Shimano Ultegra FC-R8000 among others. For the crank length you have different options to choose from such as 170 mm-47/53 cm, 172.5 mm-55/59 cm and 175 mm-61 cm. As chain the KMC X11-1 EPT Finish, 11-Speed is a great fit.
- The Bianchi Sprint Disc is also available with gears from SRAM. You have the choice between the Rival eTap AXS or the Force eTap AXS. Other excellent gear groups for road bikes are provided by Campagnolo which also have their headquarters in Italy.
Brakes
- The Bianchi Sprint Disc, available as Ultegra Disc and Sprint 105 Disc, is equipped with disc brakes. If you're looking for a cheaper option rim brakes are an alternative. The Sprint Shimano 105 you get both with rim brakes and disc brakes.
- Bianchi relies on several models from the Shimano BR series for the brakes. It does not matter whether for brake discs or brake shoes. You get the best possible braking performance with each variant. Disc brakes have the advantage that they provide excellent performance even in rainy weather.
- If you are looking for a cheap option rim brakes are the better solution. You can change them easily and without special tools. Brake discs on the other hand guarantee you a better braking performance which is also equal in mud and wet conditions.
Saddle
- For the saddle, Bianchi relies on the aluminum Velomann. Velomann is owned by Bianchi and a decisive factor for the excellent bikes as well as the Reparto Corse products.
Seatpost
- The Velomann Alloy 6061 with 15mmoffset, 27.2 mm diam. and a length of 350 mm is used for the seatpost.
Handlebar & Stem
- Bianchi also relies on the Velomann Alloy 6061 products for the handlebar and stem. For the handlebar the Velomann Compact with flat top is used. The handlebar tape is made of cork and you can choose between the colors black, white and celeste.
Wheels
- For a training use the Velomann VR30 wheels offer everything you need. They come with 24 spokes and an inner rim with 19 mm. You can mount a tire width of up to 25 mm. In addition Bianchi relies on the Shimano WH-RS100 wheelset.
Tires
- The Velomann VR30 wheelset and the Vittoria Rubino IV tire are a very good combination. The Shimano WH-RS100 wheelset and the Vittoria Zaffiro Pro V tires are also a perfect match. The Vittoria Rubino IV as well as the Vittoria Zaffiro Pro V are a good choice for your training rounds. The durability is achieved by the high-quality graphene compound.
Additional equipment
- If you don't have pedals at home or in your shopping cart yet it's helpful to look for some right away. Many premium bikes are delivered without pedals and even with a used bike they are often not included. For racing use a water bottle cage including bottle is almost a must. The little extra weight pays off by being well hydrated.

🎯 Summary
Do I take the new Bianchi Sprint Disc or the rim brake version
If you are not quite sure about the Sprint models from Bianchi there are other bikes and road bikes to choose from. The Oltre XR3 and Oltre XR4 road bikes are another good example to enjoy the Reparto Corse components. This means that information from riders is regularly flowing into the new design. Bianchi is constantly developing the components for you to lead the field. If you like to ride long distances at high speed an endurance road bike is the best choice for you.
A gravel bike is great for trekking tours and bikepacking. Cyclocross bikes are made for maximum speed in the mud while a triathlon bike shines on the road. If you prefer to head out on remote trails an MTB is the way to go. Bianchi offers a range of cross-country mountain bikes for this purpose. A MTB is characterized by suspension on the fork or with another shock on the rear end. With just a suspension fork they are called hardtail MTB and with two shocks fullsuspension MTB.
For everyday use the city fitness bikes are suitable and Bianchi also has a wide range of e-bikes to choose from. An e-bike is a good solution if you are looking for an alternative to the car. This way you are sporty on the road without coming to work completely sweaty. The Bianchi e-bikes are available as e-road bike, e-gravel, e-mountain bike, e-tourer and e-urban. You can find more e-bikes in the E-Omnia series as MTB, Urban Bike and Tourer. With the Omnia e-bikes you get the next generation which has even more power.
