Depending on the model, Canyon e-bikes are available with an aluminum frame or a carbon frame. The aluminum versions are slightly heavier, but they can still be used if the frame is slightly damaged. History of Canyon
The origins of Canyon can be found at Radsport Arnold. It was founded by Roman and Franc Arnold after the early death of their father. Since 2002, the bikes have been brought out under the new name Canyon. Their popularity has continued to grow, so that the company now has over 1400 employees worldwide, and the trend is rising.

Even with Canyon e-bikes, you don't have to do without the usual workhorses or high-performance packages. Almost the same well-known manufacturers are used as for the regular bikes, apart from the additional drive.
Gear groups
As with the regular bikes, Canyon relies on the expertise of Shimano and SRAM for the choice of drivetrains. The product ranges have been developed to achieve the best performance in their respective fields.

Drive systems
The motor and battery are the key to success when it comes to the performance of your e-bike. This determines how much power you can put on the track and how long you can ride for. A distinction is made between watts and watt hours: Watts stand for the power output, while watt hours provide information about the duration of use. For both, the higher the better.
The technology for the Canyon drive is supplied by three manufacturers: Bosch, Fazua and Shimano. Which brand and power you get depends on the model and your configuration. Saddle / seat post
The choice of saddle usually depends on where the bike will be used. Road bikes often have narrower and sportier models to save weight. On a gravel bike or mountain bike, the focus is more on comfort, although legroom is also important on a mountain bike.
The seat post is available as a rigid model, with less weight and better stiffness, and as a dropper post. With the latter, also known as a telescopic seatpost, you have the option of adjusting the height to adapt your riding position to the terrain.
Handlebars & stem
The front part of the cockpit is also responsible for the correct riding position and here, too, the benefits decide which model is used. The better the cockpit is adjusted to the rider, the more enjoyable the outings will be.
Wheels / tires
Depending on the model and intended use, you will get different wheels and tires. Smaller frame sizes behave better with a 27.5 wheel set and on a mullet bike you have small tires at the rear and 29 inch tires at the front. With the larger tires, you can achieve higher speeds and have a pleasantly smooth ride.
Additional equipment
As with some components, the type of bike you have and where you use it is also crucial when it comes to accessories. A gravel or trekking bike looks good with panniers, while you'd better have some protective clothing for mountain biking.
How do I know which of the Canyon e-bikes is suitable for my purposes?
As explained above, Canyon e-bikes are available in different categories and price ranges. If you use your bike almost exclusively on the road, take a look at the road, city or trekking e-bikes.
You've made the right choice with a mountain bike if you enjoy adventurous rides through the forest. They have the best traction control and the most comfort to really have fun.
A gravel bike can also master the odd forest trail, but you shouldn't get too reckless. It still has the geometry of a road bike and is therefore not quite as agile on the road. On the other hand, you can accelerate on the asphalt.
