The Bulls Copperhead is a bike series from the German manufacturer Bulls which is known for its versatility as well as robust construction. There are different models within the series which are designed for individual purposes. You can use it for off-road or for daily use on the road. They are available as hardtail as well as fullsuspension bike.

The Copperhead bike is equipped with high-quality components that ensure reliable performance and a pleasant riding experience. The frame material of the Copperhead bikes is usually aluminum. The aluminum frame has a modern geometry for an optimal balance between agility and stability.

Overall the Bulls Copperhead is a robust and versatile bike series that is suitable for many uses. The components such as the Shimano Deore gears are high quality and offer impressive capabilities. It doesn't matter whether you're riding on the road or off-road.

The Bulls Copperhead 3 was rated very good by Velomotion in December 2021. The Copperhead 3S is the sportier option which is a bit more expensive. Instead of the Shimano Deore you get the Shimano XT gear group. Another award of many was Velomotion's Readers' Choice 2022 which the Copperhead 1 won. Over the years quite a few other prizes have been snapped up with no end in sight.

Some models are available up to frame size XXL. Among other color they are available in Black Matt and have a permissible total weight of 150 kilograms. Unlike many premium bikes the Copperhead comes with pedals for the most part. Thanks to the MonkeyLink interfaces you can easily attach an LED lighting system. You can also mount mudguards and a rear rack as well as two water bottle cages. This makes them ideal for everyday use. You get an excellent mountain bike that has been a strong influence in cycling for years. It is constantly improving and is a success story at a very good price. For a better look as well as protection the wiring has been moved inside the frame.

As an E-MTB you've got the Bulls Copperhead EVO bikes which are equipped with a powerful Bosch motor.

History

Bulls was founded in 1995 and they offer a wide range of bikes. These are also very well received by professionals and prove their skills in the toughest races. Since 2007 there is also Team Bulls whose experience is incorporated into product development. The team includes two-time German champion and five-time Cape Epic winner Karl Platt. 

The bikes are designed to be reasonably priced and attention is paid to a fair manufacturing process. The number of employees has grown to 130 to date and there are over 1,000 specialized dealers throughout Europe. Bulls is also represented outside Europe with locations in New Zealand, America, Great Britain and other countries.

The Bulls Copperhead stands for a rock-solid equipment

Where possible Bulls relies on products from its own development division. The different variants each come with different equipment. The cheapest bike is available for less than 1,000 euros but you do not have to do without reliable components. Products from outside the company's own production are based on well-known quality. Among them you will find market giants such as Shimano, Bosch, Formula or Schwalbe.

Gear groups

• Depending on the model, the Copperhead bikes have different gear groups which often come from Shimano. The models have a 2 or 3-speed derailleur on the front wheel and a 10 or 11-speed derailleur on the rear wheel. Copperhead bikes come with an 11-speed derailleur all the way up to a 22-speed. 

Depending on the model you get different components of the Shimano Deore. In the rear derailleur for example the Shimano Deore XT RD-M8000 or Deore RD are used. In addition there is also the Deore FD front derailleur or the Shimano Deore SL shift lever. The Shimano Deore is available, among other things as RD-M5120-SGS Shadow Plus 10-speed derailleur. Furthermore the Shimano XT circuit is used as well which costs a little more but performs better.

Brakes

• The Copperhead bikes are equipped with hydraulic disc brakes. They provide excellent braking performance and good modulation. Shimano BR-MT 410 disc brakes are partly used for this purpose.

Drive system

• When your legs are tired you can rely on Bosch quality. For the motor the Bosch Performance Line comes into play which reaches up to 25 kilometers per hour. The battery is the Bosch PowerTube Horizontal 400 and the display is a Bosch Purion LCD.

Damper

• All models of the Copperhead series are equipped with a suspension fork which provides a pleasant damping of shocks and bumps. Some models also have additional suspension at the rear of the bike. A mountain bike hardtail is cheaper to get while a fully convinces with more comfort and driving fun. For this among other things the RockShox Deluxe Select and SR SUNTOUR XCM suspensions are used. The Copperhead mountain bikes have a 100 mm to 140 mm suspension travel.

Saddle

• The Bulls Sportive Ergo is the preferred choice for the saddle. It provides a good fit with enough comfort for your adventures.

Seatpost

• When it comes to the seatpost, the Limotec Alpha or the in-house product come into play among others. The Bulls seatpost comes with the MonkeyLink QR-ML 3 seat clamp.

Handlebar & Stem

• Here you get the Bullls Sport SL handlebar which attaches to the MTB-SL Stem. The stem is 3D forged and CCS slot mount ready. The MTB Sport grips provide a good hold. 

Wheels

• The wheels consist of Bulls XC 21 Evo tubeless ready rims and Shimano HB-MT 400-B / Shimano FH-RM 35 hubs.

Tires

• The wide tires on the Copperhead bikes provide good traction both on and off road. When it comes to tires the Schwalbe Racing Ralph cuts a fine figure. The Schwalbe Racing Ralph puts good acceleration on the ground and the pronounced shoulder lugs give good lateral support. In addition it impresses with its rolling resistance and quiet rolling behavior. Another excellent tire is the Nobby Nic Evo Super Ground TLE.

Additional equipment

• Depending on where your trip is going different products are available for your shopping cart. A handy multitool is never wrong to solve small problems right away. It can save yourself a time-consuming visit to the workshop. A bottle cage incl. water bottle is important for a regulated fluid balance.

Do I take the Bulls Copperhead 3 or a full suspension E-MTB

In addition to the right frame height it is also crucial to determine the intended use. This is the only way to achieve the greatest possible riding pleasure. If you want to look around for other MTBs or bikes in other categories, there are a number of bikes available in the Bulls online store. Depending on the type of mountain bike the suspension travel varies. The more the focus is on downhill riding the more leeway you have with the shock. Gravel and cross bikes are best suited if you like to ride on pavement and dirt roads. 

With a road bike you make the right decision if you are mainly on the asphalt and if you like speed. If you prefer playful riding on pump tracks or in the skate park we recommend BMX & dirt bikes. The SUV bikes can be used for city and off-road. They are the perfect bike for everyday use whether for shopping or for the way to work. In addition there are still e-bikes in quite a few ranges as well as three categories for under 18 year old. The youth bikes and children's bikes are well stocked to bring up the offspring. The children's bikes come without pedals and are made for the youngest.
